LAAGLAND / FEATURE FILM (in development)
Narrative
After a devastating flood in Friesland, Jeroen and his young son Fedde are evacuated to an overcrowded shelter in Leeuwarden. As he awaits news about his missing wife, his sense of self begins to crumble, revealing what it means to become displaced in your own country.
"What fascinates me is how, in the Netherlands, we take so much for granted. We assume the systems around us will keep working, and that we’ll stay calm when things get tense. But what happens when those certainties disappear—when the government loses control? When the people affected suddenly have nothing to fall back on? In moments like that, all of us are vulnerable, no matter where we come from or who we are."
LAAGLAND — a new drama film in development with Family Affair Films, with financial support from the Frysk Film Funs.
